Here i will write about one of the most common bariatric surgery type ‘’Gastric Sleeve’’ .
Gastric Sleeve, also known as sleeve gastrectomy or vertical sleeve gastrectomy is a surgery basically restricts your food intake, which leads to weight loss.
75-80% of the stomach is removed by this operation so you feel full with less food consume.
Gastric Botox, Gastric Balloon and Gastric Bypass are another procedures that aim weight-loss. Depending on patients’ BMI (Body Mass Index) the most suitable treatment decided by doctors.
As the first solution for those patients suffering from overweight and have relatively less BMI, gastric balloon procedure is suggested.
It’s a non-surgical procedure and easier to perform compared to gastric sleeve. One balloon is placed in stomach to reduce the volume there but if it doesn’t help, gastric sleeve becomes an urgency.
